Short Description: We currently have an opening on the Transportation team as a Project Engineer.
Title: Project Engineer - Traffic

LJA is currently looking for an Engineer to work in one of offices in either Round Rock, Austin, or San Antonio to perform transportation and traffic engineering work performing variety of traffic and transportation engineering such as intersection and roadway capacity analysis, traffic signal timing/synchronization development and implementation, traffic signal design, intersection geometric design and involvement with design and development of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) plans.

Summary: Produce and manage traffic engineering design and traffic studies for multiple clients including public agencies, private clients, toll operations, and other engineering consultants.

General Responsibilities:
• Provides technical and engineering support, including technical proposals and cost estimates.
• Performs traffic and transportation systems analysis, planning and design.
• Determines feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data.
• Responsible for performance to scope, schedule and budget.
• Responsible for performance of project staff.
• Manage and design traffic signal projects, signing, striping, illumination, ITS, and traffic control plans for TxDOT, counties and local municipalities
• Prepare traffic studies that include traffic impact analysis for private clients, and level of service analysis and travel demand modeling for public clients
• Oversees day to day operations of group including business development activities and project management responsibilities
Required Education:
• Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering is required, Masters in Civil Engineering, Transportation a plus
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or ability to obtain within 9 months from day of employment
Required Experience:
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Traffic and Transportation field
• Experienced in completing engineering studies including traffic impact analysis, signal warrant studies and traffic management plans for private clients
• Experience using SYNCHRO, CORSIM, HCS, Trans CAD, VISSIM, and AGI32 is a plus
• Proven experience in handling multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients and internal employees
• Ability to build strong relationships
