WEDNESDAY MORNING
- Vissim TxDOT Precertification Training (8am - 5pm - lunch break on your own)
- Cost: $650 (includes afternoon session)

- This 8-hour training course dives into the key principles and steps for QC of traffic simulation models and concludes with comprehensive hands-on examples in Vissim (a temporary software license will be provided). The course is designed for both modelers and reviewers. It meets the training requirements for TxDOT 3.7.1 – Traffic Operational Analysis pre-certification.
- Roundabout Training (8am - 12pm)
- Cost: $25
- Max registrants: 50
- Based on Kittelson-led research from NCHRP Report 1043, this course provides relevant roundabout planning, design, and performance information for a wide audience. The course is divided into parts that follow a generic representation of the project development process, moving from planning through design, construction, operations, and maintenance.
- Downtown Bike Tour (9am - 12pm)
- Cost: $25
- Max registrants: 30
- Enjoy a guided bike tour of El Paso Downtown by SunCycle showcasing some of the 25 murals created by borderland artists.
- Ciudad Juárez Walking Tour (9:30am - 1:30pm)
- Cost: Free (Lunch and tour is on our own but with a group, we will be taking the El Paso Streetcar to the nearest stop to/from the port of entry)

- Bring your passport and take a stroll across the border to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico on a guided tour by ITE Conference volunteers and visit the Catadral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe (Cathedral) and Museo de Arte de Ciudad Juárez (Art Museum). The group will also stop at a restaurant, shops, and the World Famous Kentucky Bar, the birth place of the Margarita. Lunch and tour are on your own but with a group. We will be taking the El Paso Streetcar to the nearest stop to/from the port of entry. We recommend bringing cash as credit card payments might not be available at all souvenir shops. Current USA Passport required to travel with the group. While not expected, border wait times could range between 15 to 45 minutes.
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
- Bike/Ped Safety Training (1pm - 5pm)
- Cost: $25
- Max registrants: no maximum
- Based on the Kittelson-led NCHRP 948, this course covers a quantitative method for evaluating pedestrian and bicycle safety and comfort during planning and design phases of alternate intersections and interchanges, such as diverging diamond interchanges, restricted crossing U-turn intersections, median U-turn intersections, and displaced left turn intersections.
- Innovative Intersections of El Paso: A Guided Bus Tour (1pm - 5pm)
- Cost: $25
- Max registrants: 50
- Join this 4-hour pre-conference bus tour showcasing El Paso’s diverse and innovative intersection designs. The tour will visit approximately nine locations, including roundabouts, RCUTs, a DDI, and a SPUI, with opportunities to step off the bus at select sites for closer inspection and discussion with local experts.
- La Nube Science Museum (at 1:30pm a group will go together but tickets are good any of the meeting dates)
- Cost: $15 (tickets only)
