Committees

Membership
Nanditha Togar, Urban Engineers Group

The Membership Committee promotes membership in ITE and TexITE, provides membership information, and reviews subscriber and affiliate applications. The committee is comprised of one representative from each of the six Texas sections. Each of the section members is responsible for increasing the membership within their respective sections and passing this information along to the committee chair. The chair in turn will forward the application along to the TexITE treasurer and the roster manager.


Technical
Paul Luedtke, HDR

The purpose of the Technical Committee is to function as a central clearinghouse for the technical aspects of the transportation engineering profession in Texas. The committee endeavors to accomplish this by: Seeking out individuals or organizations who have developed technical solutions to transportation problems and encourage them to disseminate the benefits of this solution to the membership by assisting them in writing papers or developing presentations; Compiling a list of presentations, papers and speakers for use by TexITE and the sections; Assisting the vice president in the preparation of the technical sessions at TexITE meetings; continually seeking approaches and technologies from other fields that could be applicable to the transportation profession; and assisting in identifying nominees for TexITE technical awards.


Transit
Tom Ryden, Parsons

The purpose of the Transit Committee is to advance the education of TexITE members on transit, provide transit project highlights in current TexITE newsletters, encourage transit innovation in Texas through special recognition and awards, and to keep members current on transit policy issues at the state and federal levels.


Newsletter
Praveen Pasumarthy, Wilbur Smith Associates

TexITE produces three newsletters each year. The newsletters are posted in the Members Only section of the TexITE Web site.


Future Engineers
Matt Johnson, Freese and Nichols

The Future Engineers Committee seeks to encourage students in Texas public schools to seek higher education in the engineering and science fields, with an emphasis on transportation engineering.

Younger Members
Matt Sneed, Kimley-Horn and Associates

The Younger Member's Committee strives to create an area for members under the age of 35 to become leaders in the transportation community through organizing social events, community service events, and professional development opportunities.


Highway Products Group
Vacant

The Highway Products Group coordinates the equipment exhibit at each TexITE meeting. This function allows the TexITE membership to network with all participating vendors and manufacturers and serves to offset some of the meeting expenses.


Past Presidents
Wayne Kurfees, Kimley-Horn and Associates

The Past Presidents Committee provides, upon the request of the TexITE President, advice and counsel on specific issues.


Legislative
Walter Ragsdale, Ragsdale Consulting

The Legislative Committee monitors bills and other legislation at the state level that have an impact on transportation. The committee distributes this information to the TexITE membership to educate members and encourage participation in the legislative process.


Consultants Council
Paul Luedtke, HDR

CCTexITE is responsible for overseeing the development of technical and management issues affecting consultants engaged in transportation and traffic engineering. Council membership consists of transportation consulting firms active in TexITE and have transportation professionals that are full ITE members in Texas. CCTexITE educates its members on issues facing the consulting profession, sponsors the Young Consultant's Award, and supports TexITE student members attending the district meetings.


Awards
Melisa Finley, Texas Transportation Institute

The Awards Committee solicits and reviews nominations for the various TexITE awards. The committee also advises the board on revisions of existing awards and the addition of new awards.


Web
Gary Thomas, Texas Transportation Institute

The Web Committee is responsible for maintaining the TexITE Web site.
