Congratulations to the Texas A&M University student chapter on winning their fourth consecutive district Traffic Bowl. Team members were (pictured left to right) Negin Alemazkoor, Lisa Larsen, and Sarang Vasishth. Santosh Rao Danda served as alternate. The Aggies will compete in the international competition in Boston in August. Texas A&M won the inaugural event in 2010.

Congratulations to all of the award winners announced at the 2013 Spring Meeting held in Richardson on April 10-12:

Chris Melson, student at the University of Texas at Austin (pictured at left), received the award for best student paper for his paper titled: The Influence of Bridge Facility Attributes on Bicycle Travel Behavior. His paper has been forwarded to ITE headquarters to compete for the Daniel Fambro Student Paper Competition.

The Texas A&M University student chapter received the outstanding student chapter award. Their report has been forwarded to headquarters to compete for the outstanding student chapter of ITE.

The South Texas Section received the Texas District Section Activities award. Their report has been forwarded to headquarters to compete for the outstanding section of ITE.

The Greater Dallas Section has announced that applications are now available for their 2013-2014 Greater Dallas Section Scholarship for Studies in Traffic and Transportation Engineering. Deadline extened to June 17.  Visit the Dallas Section Web page for information on eligibility and how to apply.
