bulletCall for Abstracts

DEADLINE DECEMBER 31, 2008

The 2009 Winter Meeting is fast approaching and your ideas and proposals for technical session presentations are hereby requested! This year’s meeting will be held on February 5-7, 2009 in beautiful Lubbock, Texas. Conference information will soon be available on the district website along with contact information should you have any questions.

This conference will feature presentations chosen from abstract submittals that offer practical and innovative solutions to contemporary engineering and planning challenges. In our daily lives, many of us are involved in recently completed or on-going projects, successful agency programs, or research activities from which topic presentations may be developed. Most of us tend to humbly minimize the importance of our accomplishments, but in reality, sharing them with fellow professionals creates an environment of invigorating and innovative thought. Policies, procedures, and technical analysis methods are sought. The conference organizers invite you to submit abstracts on all transportation topics, such as:

  • Public Involvement and Outreach
  • Transit Planning or Operations
  • Transportation Safety Issues
  • Traffic Operations
  • ITS Design and Communications
  • Mitigating Construction Impacts
  • Planning
  • Signs and Markings
  • Low-cost Congestion Solutions
  • Pedestrians and Bikes
  • Managing Special Events
  • Resource Planning/Scheduling
  • Special Focus for this Meeting on ‘Complete Streets’ Initiative

E-mail abstracts before December 31st to Brian Jahn. Please keep the abstract to 300 words and one page, including the following information: Author(s) and affiliations(s), mailing address, email, and FAX for author contact. Accepted abstracts will NOT be expected to prepare a technical paper for the conference. If you have any questions please contact Brian Jahn (214-748-6740).
