DEADLINE NOVEMBER 30, 2009

The Annual Meeting is behind us and the TexITE Winter Meeting will be here soon.  This year’s meeting will be held January 28-30, in Frisco. That's not San Francisco, but Frisco, Texas (northern end of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex). Conference information will be posted on the district Web site within the next few months.  We are developing an exciting technical program and are looking for willing participants to share the vast experience and expertise that exists within our membership.

If you have an interesting topic or presentation, please submit a short and simple abstract as soon as practical.  Abstracts should be limited to no more than one page of legible text. All transportation topics will be considered in the development of the Technical Program, but to spark your imagination, consider the following topic areas:

  • Traffic Operations Improvements
  • ITS Planning / Design / Operations
  • Communications
  • Mitigating Construction Impacts
  • Planning – Masterplans, Corridor Planning, City Planning
  • Signs and Markings
  • Traffic Signal – Planning, Design, Operations, Maintenance, Timing
  • Microscopic Simulation, CAD Visualization
  • Alleviation of Congestion, Reduction of Fuel Consumption
  • Green Projects
  • Pedestrian and Bike Planning, Design or Implementation

  • Disaster Planning and Implementation (hurricanes, ice, etc…)
  • Freight, Border Crossings
  • Rail - Highway/Rail Crossings - Quiet Zones – Light Rail – Commuter Rail – High Speed Rail

  • Effects of Demographics, Fuel Economy on Future Funding

E-mail abstracts before November 30, 2009 to vice-president@texite.org.  Please keep the abstract to 300 words and one page, including the following information: Author(s) and affiliations(s), mailing address, email, and telephone number for author contact.  Accepted abstracts will NOT be required to prepare a technical paper for the conference.
