Position Description
The Senior Resident Engineer/Project Manager for the KBR North Texas Region must be a licensed Texas Professional Engineer with a minimum 10-years construction management and 4-years managerial experience to perform duties as the Senior Resident Engineer and Project Manager reporting to the Senior Project Manager. S/he will be in charge of 1 to 3 Resident Engineers and/or Project Coordinators that will directly report to this manager.
Duties
- S/he will insure the implementation of the KBR Safety Policy throughout the project organization and notify/correct contractors and others of any hazardous situations.
- This manager will plan, direct, and ensure the successful management of multiple tasks and/or projects through construction/program assigned personnel.
- Liaison with the Program Management Office of the Client, the preparation of executive reports, the initiation of progress reporting and quality assurance systems and the interfacing with Client and Construction Contractor representatives.
- S/he will initiate and approve constructability reviews as directed by the Senior Project Manager as well as actively observe site conditions in order to manage design or field changes.
- S/he will identify key hires necessary for continued growth and to maintain the competitive edge for our provided services.
- S/he must have prior experience directing, planning and overseeing new construction as well as the renovation of highly specialized, complex facilities.
- Supports the Senior Project Manager in developing a sales and marketing strategy beginning with the Client and reaching out to other potential Clients.
- Assists in the preparation of proposals and presentations.
- Works closely with the Senior Project Manager to achieve regional sales, revenue and profit objectives and to provide effective management of overhead costs.
- Maintains and ensures client satisfaction through effectively resolving complaints when necessary in order to secure repeat business.
- Participates in preparation and negotiation of Client contracts and ensures all aspects of Client contracts are accomplished.
- Ensures delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and project progress and that all aspects of the owner contracts are accomplished.
- Maintains high quality standards, understands key process issues and ensures implementation of process improvements for all work within the region.
- Actively participates in the business community and building relationships within the industry to generate and enhance business opportunities.
Requirements
- Manage large and complex transportation projects
- Ensure project compliance with applicable federal, state and local rules, laws and regulations
- Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, recommend best options and implement approved solution in support of goals
- Manage multiple projects and priorities
- Interpret, apply, explain and enforce applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Requires a detailed knowledge of and the ability to review construction bid documents, specifications, code compliance scopes of work.
- Capable of initiating Construction Management task proposals based on construction scopes of work and insure that company standards and values are maintained throughout the process. Requires experience managing personnel and consultants; field operations, budgets/change orders; and construction schedules.
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to resolve/diffuse field issues.
- Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following: Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time; Operating assigned equipment.
- Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations; Communicating with others; Reading and writing and Operating assigned equipment and vehicles.
