In Memorium: Mike Ogden 1963-2011

It is with great sorrow that we inform you that TexITE Houston member Mike Ogden lost his decade long battle with leukemia this past weekend. Mike was a proud Aggie and was a program manager in the Houston office of the Texas Transportation Institute until the late 1990’s when he joined Klotz Associates as a consultant.

Mike was very active in TexITE and in particular was the President of our Houston section for the Year 2001.  (As well as Vice-President in 2000 and Secretary/Treasurer in 1999).  Since Mike was diagnosed with cancer in late 2000, he limited some of his professional activities and to spend more time with his family.  He continued to serve as President while going thru chemotherapy the first time it was diagnosed.

Mike is survived by his wife, Colleen, two daughters, his family, and many friends in the transportation engineering community here in Houston and throughout Texas.

Mike was a mentor, friend, colleague, optimist and just an all-around great guy. More information on Mike and a guestbook can be found here.

Here are the details of the funeral arrangements:

Visitation and Prayer:
Tuesday, November 22 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Rosewood Funeral Home, 3939 Pasadena Blvd, Pasadena, Texas

Celebration of Life Service:
Wednesday, November 23 at 11:00 am at St. Helens Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd. Pearland, Texas

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Houston, 5005 Mitchelldale St., Suite 115, Houston, Tx. 77092.
